Partner program for agencies and consultants

If you manage websites or accessibility work for clients, you can refer them to GotAlt and earn 20% of the subscription payments we collect from them for 12 months. Attribution is a code your clients enter at checkout, and the terms are published on this page.

Who the program is for

The program is for agencies and consultants who already manage client sites: web design and development studios, ecommerce agencies, digital marketing teams and accessibility consultants. If you already tell clients to monitor their sites, the program gives you published terms and a code that credits you when they do.

A partner refers a client; the client buys from GotAlt. Your client pays through Stripe Checkout, holds their own account and receives their own invoices, and GotAlt handles their billing and support.

What a partner gets

These are the program's default terms.

Partner program terms
Term What it means
Commission 20% of the subscription payments we collect from each client you refer.
Commission period 12 months, counted from the client's first payment.
What earns commission Payments for the Professional and Agency plans, including extra pages, from clients who entered your code at checkout. Subscriptions you buy for your own sites do not earn commission. If you run your clients' sites inside your own Agency plan, that subscription is yours and earns no commission. Commission applies when a client buys its own plan with your code.
Paid from collected revenue Commission is paid only on money we have collected and kept. A payment that is refunded or reversed earns no commission.
Minimum payout $100. A smaller balance carries over to the next month.
Payment timing Net 30: commission earned in a calendar month is paid in the 30 days after that month ends, and not before the 8th day after it, once your balance has reached the minimum. A payment refunded or reversed after payout is deducted from the next payout.
How we pay We agree the payout method with you by email when you join, along with any tax paperwork we need from you.

How attribution works

  1. You receive a partner code

We create a promotion code for you in Stripe, the payment provider behind our checkout. The code is yours alone.

  2. Your client enters it at checkout

When a client chooses Professional or Agency on our pricing page, Stripe Checkout has a promotion code field. They enter your code there before they pay, and Stripe shows them the exact total. The code gives your client a discount at checkout, shown before they pay, for the first 12 months.

  3. We match the payments to your code

Stripe records which promotion code a checkout used, and we read that record to credit each subscription to the partner whose code it was.

A subscription is credited to you when your code was entered at its checkout. Ask clients to enter the code before they pay.

What your clients receive

Your clients receive GotAlt as it is sold on the pricing page:

  • A weekly check of every monitored page, with 16 rule checks on each.
  • A vision pass that opens up to six of a page's images and judges whether the alt text is true of the picture. It reruns when a page's images or their alt text change.
  • An email when a check finds a new critical or serious issue.
  • A CSV export of the issues found.
  • A printable issues report.

Professional starts at $69 a month for 50 monitored pages on one site. Agency starts at $229 a month for 100 pooled pages across unlimited sites. An extra page is $1.40 a month on Professional and $1.30 on Agency. The pricing page lists what each plan includes and what it does not.

Automated checks cover part of WCAG, and a person still has to review the rest. The methodology page lists every rule we run and what no automated scanner can detect.

Rules for partners

No compliance or certification claims

Do not describe GotAlt, a scan or any result from it as proof that a site meets WCAG, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act or any other law, and do not call it a certification, seal or badge. GotAlt makes no such claim. The W3C states that no tool alone can determine if a site meets accessibility standards. In April 2025 the FTC finalized an order against an accessibility overlay vendor that requires a $1,000,000 payment. The FTC said the company's claims that its product could make any website WCAG-compliant were unsupported, and that it failed to disclose its material connections to reviewers who appeared objective (FTC press release).

Disclose your commission

Any review, recommendation or mention of GotAlt that includes your code must say, clearly and next to the recommendation, that you earn a commission when someone subscribes. The FTC's Endorsement Guides require a connection that could affect how much weight people give an endorsement to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously (16 CFR 255.5). This is general information, not legal advice.

Describe GotAlt accurately

Describe GotAlt as this site describes it. Do not promise features, prices or results that our pages do not list.

No spam

Do not send unsolicited bulk email or messages about GotAlt, and do not post your code where it is off topic, such as in comments or in replies to people who did not ask.

Breaking these rules ends your place in the program.

How to apply

Email hello@gotalt.com with your agency's site address. We reply within two working days (Monday to Friday). When we accept you, we create your code and confirm the terms with you by email.

What we don't claim

We make no claim about what a partner will earn. Commission depends on how many of your clients subscribe and for how long. The program does not make GotAlt a certification body, and nothing here is a promise that any site will pass an audit or meet a law.

Questions about the partner program

What if a client forgets to enter my code?

A subscription is credited to the partner whose code was entered at its checkout. If no code was entered, there is nothing for us to match, so ask your client to enter the code before they pay.

Do my own subscriptions earn commission?

No. Commission applies to subscriptions bought by clients you refer, not to plans you buy for your own sites. If you run your clients' sites inside your own Agency plan, that subscription is yours and earns no commission. Commission applies when a client buys its own plan with your code.

Which plans earn commission?

Both paid plans, Professional and Agency, including extra pages on either.

Who supports my clients?

GotAlt does, directly. Clients email hello@gotalt.com and we reply within two working days (Monday to Friday).

Check a client's site before you recommend GotAlt

No signup, no card. Scan up to three pages and read every check that found something, each with its WCAG criterion or a best-practice label, a count and up to three examples from the page's own HTML, or look at a real report first.
