Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs – Pugwash seeks a world free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Through our long-standing tradition of ‘dialogue across divides’ that also earned us the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995, Pugwash aims to develop and support the use of scientific, evidence-based policymaking, focusing on areas where nuclear and WMD risks are present. By facilitating track 1.5 and track II dialogues, we foster creative discussions on ways to increase the security of all sides and promote policy development that is cooperative and forward-looking.
Pugwash brings scientists and policymakers together to reduce nuclear and WMD risks, fostering dialogue and evidence-based policy for global security.
Fostering dialogue to end nuclear and WMD threats
Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs is dedicated to creating a world free from nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. The site serves as a hub for scientists, policymakers, and advocates who believe in evidence-based approaches and open dialogue to solve some of the biggest security challenges facing humanity.
Here, you can explore reports, statements, and event highlights focused on nuclear risk reduction and disarmament. The platform promotes cooperative discussions through workshops and conferences and keeps you informed about global efforts and policy developments. Whether you're interested in peace advocacy, scientific perspectives on security, or international policymaking, Pugwash provides resources and opportunities to get involved.
The site also reflects its long history and impact, including its Nobel Peace Prize recognition. It's a welcoming space for anyone eager to learn more about disarmament, participate in dialogue, or support the goal of a safer, more secure world.
